Student travel services

Students typically have many travel opportunities available to them – exchange programs, internships abroad, and of course, spring break vacations. However, their budgets for travel are usually limited. Fortunately, there are many travel agencies offering student travel services that young people can use to cut down on travel expenses. These services typically offer not just discounted plane tickets, but also offer tour packages, insurance, reservations of hostels and hotels and even rail passes.

Before starting your search, however, you have to first determine your budget for the trip. This will help narrow down your choices. You should also look into discounts you may be eligible for. If you have an International Student Identity Card, you qualify for discounts on tours, travel books, food and a variety of other services. In European countries, an ISIC will even allow students discounts on train tickets of as much as fifty percent.

The first step in locating student travel services is to ask other students or college authorities for their recommendations. You can also try looking at review sites online to see what other users think of their service.

Then you should comparison shop among the various offers available; don’t take the word of an agency that they offer the cheapest prices at face value. Also, be wary of offers that seem to good to be true, as they may have hidden charges such as taxes that would boost the final ticket price.

You might also consider booking to alternate cities near your destination and then traveling there by rail or other transportation, since the savings may be substantial enough to offset the inconvenience and additional travel cost.
